The large forest fire in Sovići near Grud is still active, and the helicopter of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina is participating in its extinguishing from 8:10 this morning.
Due to the strong wind in Mostar, the Air Tractor stationed at the Mostar Airport is unable to take off and help extinguish the fire.
“According to information from the Mostar Airport, the wind is expected to calm down around noon, when Air Tractor would start operating again in the Grude area,” announced the Civil Protection Administration of the West Herzegovina County.
As they stated, for the fourth day already, numerous firefighters and locals are fighting the fire on very inaccessible terrain and they hope that today, and at the latest tomorrow, this fire should be brought under control.
