According to information received by the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Ministry of Health from the BiH Ministry of Civil Affairs, the first smaller contingent of Pfizer Covid-19 vaccines is expected to be delivered to Bosnia and Herzegovina through the Covax mechanism in late January and early February.
This vaccine has been granted a temporary license for use by the European Medicines Agency, the FBiH Ministry of Health said.
Through the Covax mechanism, the Federation of BiH has secured 800,000 doses of vaccines in the first round of procurement, which, after the first initial delivery, which is expected at the end of the month or the beginning of next month, will be delivered successively.
Vaccines from other manufacturers that have or will have the approval of the European Medicines Agency are also expected to be delivered in the coming period.
The priority group for receiving the first vaccines that arrive in FBiH will be health workers and residents of caretaking facilities, as well as the staff of nursing homes.
