The first Eid Prayer was held today in the reconstructed Ferhadija Mosque in Banja Luka. A large number of citizens of Banja Luka attended the Eid Prayer in the Ferhat pasha’s mosque, and many believers came from other cities of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the world.
The Mufti of Banja Luka Osman Effendi Kozlić conveyed the message of peace and tolerance to all Muslims and members of other religious confessions.
“On behalf of all believers who are here and those who are in other mosques in Banja Luka, I express my deepest satisfaction with being here, having the first Eid Prayer after the official opening of the Ferhat pasha’s mosque in, as you can see, a nice atmosphere and a beautiful ambient,” said Effendi Kozlić.
Kozlić said that he hopes that everyone heard his benevolent message.
“Regarding our message, I hope that everyone heard it, and my today’s message was related to the publishing of the holy book Quran. The message was related to those clear messages from Quran that should be followed, and one of them is that peace is better and compromise is better,” the Mufti of Banja Luka said.
Kozlić said that he also directed the message at all politicians in BiH regardless of the confession they belong to, that their work must be fair and practical, and not limited to bare talking.
“It concerns me that young people leave this country and that the number of believers in some municipality or jemaat is lower every day, so my message points to this big joint problem,” said Kozlić.
