First Sarajevo Ramadan Festival Opened

Sarajevo Ramadan FestivalFirst Sarajevo Ramadan Festival officially opened last night at the fortress Žuta Tabija in Sarajevo.

Festival is a project of presenting Islamic culture, art and nice Ramadan traditions.

Sarajevo Ramadan Festival will last for the next 28 days and a rich content will fulfill the Ramadan time.

The Mayor of Municipality Stari Grad Ibrahim Hadžibajrić pointed out at the official opening that all of that will happen in one of the oldest facilities in city.

Creators of this project are Zone of the Improved Business Bašačaršija and Sarajevo Navigator Foundation.

The aim is to complement the touristic offer of Sarajevo.

Sarajevo Ramadan Festival is created under the auspices of the USAID project company in which the zone of improved business and Foundation Sarajevo Navigator are the coordinators.

With the opening of the first Sarajevo Ramadan Festival officially began implementation of the project “Phoenix – Culture for the Future”, which is funded by the European Union and implemented by the Municipality of Stari Grad, Zone of improved business Baščaršija and Sarajevo Navigator Foundation.

The project “Phoenix – Culture for the Future” will last 18 months and is part of the program “Sarajevo 2014” funded by the EU within the framework of the 100th anniversary of the start of World War I, with the aim that from Sarajevo to send messages of peace, reconciliation and solidarity to the world.
