“Elektroprivreda HZHB is the first one in BiH that moved from words to actions and constructed an object on the basis of use of renewable energy sources. I am very happy that this facility was built on the territory of Canton 10, which has a large natural potential for the production of energy from renewable sources,” said Borjana Kristo, the Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH.
She also added that this investment gives a large impetus to the economic and all the other developments of this area, especially Tomislavgrad.
Marinko Gilja, Director General of Elektroprivreda HZHB, said that this is an investment of about 82 million EUR, of which the largest part, 72 million EUR, refers to the loan by the German State Development Bank (KfW).
“Elektroprivreda HZHB has been working hard and constructing since its establishment, with the aim to increase its production. In recent few decades, these are HPP Pec-Mlini and HPP Mostar mud, and all of that was done in order to improve the quality of their services. WPP Mesihovina is the first facility of this kind, and its construction was supported by all the levels of government,” stated director Gilja.
“This wind power plant is located in the central part of the Municipality of Tomislavgrad, it has 22 wind aggregates and a total installed power of 50.6 MW. Its annual production will amount to 165.17 GWh. With an average household consumption of 6,000 kilowatts per year, WPP Mesihovina will be able to supply about 27,500 households with electricity,” added director Gilja.
Mayor of Tomislavgrad Ivan Vukadin stated that according to the concession contract, a total of 2.05 % of produced and sold electricity will belong to the local self-government.
