Five children were killed and 12 people, including women, were injured in an Israeli bombardment of Gaza City on Sunday.
According to medical sources, civilians were killed when Israeli forces shelled an area near the Shati refugee camp west of the city.
In violation of a United Nations Security Council resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire, Israel has continued its brutal offensive against the Gaza Strip since the October 7, 2023 attack by the Palestinian group Hamas.
Since then, more than 42,200 people have been killed, most of them women and children, and more than 98,400 have been injured, according to local health authorities.
Israeli attacks have displaced almost the entire population of the territory during a continuous blockade that has led to severe shortages of food, clean water and medicine.
Israel is facing charges of genocide at the International Court of Justice.
