špirićThe Deputy Chairman of the B&H Council of Ministers and the Minister of Finance and Treasury Nikola Špirić spoke today with the Charge d’Affaires of the US Embassy to B&H Nicholas Hill.

At the meeting, most of the attention was put on economic issues and future activities in connection with the adoption of the budget for 2014, and the upcoming visit of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) that will be in B&H tomorrow on occasion of the fourth review under the Stand-By Arrangement.

Minister Špirić stressed that economic issues have to be the focus in order to ensure economic growth and strengthen the real sector in B&H.

He added that there are encouraging indicators, such as the growth in gross domestic product (GDP) compared to the projections, and the export and import of positive trends in industrial production.

Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of B&H said that he does not expect problems with the current arrangement with the IMF, and that the forthcoming review should be successfully finished.

Nicholas Hill said that the US supports B&H on its Euro Atlantic path, as well as all reforms that would contribute to the macroeconomic stability of the country.
