“For New Generations” is no longer a Partner for Government Formation

The leader of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nermin Nikšić, told reporters in Sarajevo that at today’s meeting of the coalition of the parties of the Eight, the final position was agreed that the movement “For New Generations” is no longer considered a partner for government formation, Fena reports.

Nikšić states that they have to secure the signatures of their representatives by Monday at the latest, which would demonstrate a clear parliamentary majority in the new convocation of the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament.

“There are still divided opinions – whether or not to elect and support the vice-president of the FBiH from among the Bosniak people that comes from the Party of Democratic Action (SDA). We are also discussing this with partners from the international community,” he added.

The leader of the People’s European Alliance (NES) Nermin Ogrešević assessed today’s talks as substantive and open but added that there are problems in the coalition and that they need to be solved.

He emphasized that the NES cannot give up on the movement “For New Generations” as the coalition partner and that together with the Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina they continue to act as a bloc and will be represented in that form in the coming period.

Ogrešević also announced that the NES did not have an agreement with the SDP regarding the election of the delegates from the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the House of Peoples of the state parliament.
