At the seminar entitled “Technical regulations, standardization and certification“, that was held yesterday in Sarajevo, representatives of more than 70 business subjects were informed about the jurisdiction and activities of BH institutions related to the improvement of quality infrastructure.
Ognjenka Lalovic, the director of the Economy sector in the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH, who is the organizer of the seminar, emphasized in her speech to media that the activation of the Agreement on stabilization and Association, which is expected soon, means the obligation for entrepreneurs in BiH to respect European standards.
Having found that standards in BiH are generally good, Lalovic said that it is necessary ti implement certain reforms and improvements in order to be as much harmonized as possible with European standards.
“Implementation of rules of European system means that our products will be more qualitative and competitive at both domestic and foreign market“, explained Lalovic.
She added that the seminar was organized in the cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH, Institute for Accreditation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Institute for Standardization and Agency for Market Surveillance of BiH.
“The idea of yesterday’s seminar was to point out the importance of standards and their use to representatives of economy“, concluded Aleksandar Cincar, the director of the Institute for Standardization of BiH.
In a talk with representatives of relevant institutions, it was enabled to seminar participants to get information about responsibilities of institutions responsible for the implementation of quality systems in BiH.
