The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina today sentenced former CEO of Bosnalijek Nedim Uzunović to 10 years in prison. The verdict is final.

The other defendants in the case were sentenced to one year in prison each, while the legal entity Bosnalijek was fined 2.5 million BAM.

The Court of BiH ordered the seizure of Uzunović’s property, worth 2.8 million.

In the proceedings, Uzunović and 14 other individuals and legal entities were charged with organized crime, abuse of position or authority, entering into harmful contracts, and money laundering between 2005 and 2016 at Bosnalijek.

The Prosecutor’s Office filed an indictment in 2023, according to which Nedim Uzunović, as the organizer, with several other persons, acting as an organized group, in order to obtain illegal material gain, and contrary to the interests of the Bosnalijek company, carried out financial transactions through several offshore companies registered in the British Virgin Islands and the Seychelles, for alleged marketing or consulting services that were not performed, Fena writes.
