13487880_1212362992147988_1186265539_nWith official ribbon-cutting ceremony, the fourth building of the Public Enterprise BIT Center in Tuzla was opened today. The opening was preceded by several months long works on the reconstruction of the building located in the heart of the city.

Implementation of the entire project worth nearly 500.000 BAM enabled the complete adjustment to the needs of the companies that deal with informational-communicational technologies (ICT) and that operate within the BIT Center.

The money for this purpose was provided through the project by the EU “Strengthening of business environment for several small and medium enterprises in Tuzla and the surrounding municipalities – BESt4SMEs”. In addition to the BIT center, the Association for Development NERDA also participates in the implementation, with the support by the City of Tuzla and municipalities Srebrenik and Kalesija.

“BIT Center was founded in 2005 and thus we created conditions for 400 engineering workplaces. Through the first, second and the third stage we educated nearly 5.000 persons and created a new basis for development. This is the fourth stage that brings another 30 workplaces for highly educated persons who are doing programming for the entire world,” said the Mayor of Tuzla Jasmin Imamović, adding that this is the best technological park in the Balkans.

According to the Director of the BIT Center Robert Martić, the newly opened fourth building is of great significance because of the fact that this public enterprise gained an opportunity to expand the capacities for at least 30 new workplaces.

According to the plans, the fifth building of the BIT Center should be opened by the end of this year. That will create an opportunity for another 70 workplaces for young, highly educated persons in the field of technical sciences.
