banja lukaMayor of Banja Luka, Slobodan Gavranovic, today, on the 20th of June, met with a delegation of French businessmen regarding the possibilities of construction of hotel capacities, including the possibility of revitalizing the artillery barracks in the fortress Kastel with additional larger hotel accommodation in the narrower part of the city. Also, they discussed the possibility of financing or construction of collecting systems and waste water treatment plants.

The Mayor added that he expects a group of technical experts from the French companies to come to Banja Luka in early July and perform immediate insight into the documentation and technical solutions for the construction of collecting systems and waste water treatment plants, in order to specify the possibilities of their engagement.

“They have 50 million EUR ready for investment and it is very important for us,” said Gavranovic.

According to him, it is necessary to arrange other details and open the procedures that are prescribed by the law in order for this company to get engaged on these issues.

Representative of the Chamber of Commerce of French province Valdoaz and the company “Integrale”, Kristof Masar said that they were visiting Banja Luka earlier, with more delegation of French businessmen in order to see the economic potential of the RS and Banja Luka. He said that they are interested in investing in this region.

“In the conversation with the Mayor of Banja Luka, we wanted to know more about the situation with waste water and the possibility of construction of a hotel. We hope to strengthen our friendship with Republika Srpska and our friends from Banja Luka, and that we will be able to sign specific contract soon,” concluded Masar.
