Today, a parade of police forces and veterans was held in Sarajevo, as a central part of the ceremony called “From the first call to the defense of the state”, which recognizes the generations that participated in the construction and preservation of the police institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Fena writes.
Police officers from several police agencies and cadets from the Police Academy of the Federal Ministry of the Interior (FMUP) participated in the parade, which began near the Eternal Fire and ended on the Skenderija plateau. A special part of the parade was made up of veterans of the police force from the period 1991-1995. year.
The Minister of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, Admir Katica, said that at the celebration of the 35th anniversary of the mobilization of the reserve force of the former police of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the past, present and future meet symbolically.
He said that in 1992, the members of the reserve police stood up for the defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, while at the same time performing their regular police tasks, which, as pointed out, best illustrates the role of police officers in the most difficult times.
“This is the fate of those of us who work in internal affairs bodies, especially police officers, to defend the homeland when necessary, but also to perform regular duties and tasks,” said Katica.
Speaking about the parade of police forces, he pointed out that it represents a demonstration of their readiness to respond to various security challenges, but also a confirmation of the importance of cooperation and joint action of all police structures in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
He particularly pointed out the importance of the special blinded vehicles presented during the parade, stating that they will improve the capacities of special police units in carrying out both regular and the most complex tasks, especially in situations that imply an immediate threat to the safety of citizens.
He pointed out that the key messages of today’s commemoration of unity are love for the homeland and the readiness of the police force to respond to all challenges and security scenarios they may face.
After the parade, a formal academy was held in the hall “Mirza Delibašić” in Skenderija. The Sarajevo Philharmonic, Sarajevo National Theater Opera Choir, Mustafa Čizmić Čizma, Tarik Mulaomerović and Ivica Šarić will perform as part of the musical and stage program.
The organizers of today’s ceremony are the Sarajevo Canton Government and the Union of Federations – Police Associations of the MUP of the Republic of BiH 1991-1995.
