In order to improve measures of protection and prevention when it comes to Ebola virus, representatives of the International Airport Sarajevo, BiH Border Police and the Federation Sanitary Border Inspection held a meeting yesterday and agreed to make a functional document in the next few days – a general guidebook for prevention of Ebola virus.
”Purpose of this document is to define measures and actions of employees and other subjects who are directly involved in process of transport of passengers, who could be exposed to this virus due to their regular obligations,” spokesperson of the International Airport Sarajevo Sabina Kovač told FENA.
When it comes to prevention concerning epidemic of Ebola virus, she emphasized that the International Airport Sarajevo can take activities and action only based on instructions of the Federation Ministry of Health, which is coordinator of activities.
She emphasized the Sarajevo Airport has an Action Plan in crisis health situations, which was made according to recommendation of the World Health Organization, that is, the Directorate of Civil Aviation of BiH.
The Plan is activated after Center of Air Traffic Control AS receives a report from the captain of the plane, and in accordance with the completed procedures of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
”As preventive measure, the International Airport Sarajevo distributed newsletters to its employees with useful information related to the current situation of Ebola epidemic, which were taken from the website of the Public Health Institute of FBiH,” underlined Kovač.
