American companies are interested in investing in BiH, and the implementation of the Southern Interconnection project, worth more than 1 billion BAM, could further encourage their arrival, said the Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy in BiH, John Ginkel.
Ginkel said this in a conversation with the Director of the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency in BiH, Marko Kubatlija, who on this occasion introduced the interlocutor to the services that Fipa provides to foreign investors, from initial interest and company registration to the implementation and further development of projects.
He pointed out that there is significant room for improving economic cooperation, emphasizing that the inflow of investments from the US to BiH so far amounts to only 57.6 million BAM, the agency announced.
Speaking about a recent meeting with the American technology company “Ciena”, the interlocutors assessed that for the arrival of such and similar investors, it is crucial to provide stable and additional energy sources, which is one of the important prerequisites for the implementation of larger investment projects.
The need for more intensive cooperation between FIPA, the American Chamber of Commerce in BiH and the BiH Embassy in Washington was emphasized with the aim of stronger promotion of investment potential and attracting new investments in BiH, Srna writes.
