A No-Cost AI Course for Educators and New Edu Features from Google!

Google and MIT are on their way to help educators and, well, to make the academic journey for students a successful one. This fruitful collaboration offers a free Generative AI for Educators course. Created by the experts of the Big Tech company and MIT, the tool helps high and middle school teachers use AI to personalize instructions, come up with the most creative lessons, as well as save time when dealing with time-consuming administrative tasks.

“Google would like to make sure that every educator can benefit from AI,” says Lisa Gevelber, founder of Grow with Google. According to Geverlber, these tools were developed to help educators adapt materials and lessons to the most various learning levels and styles of students. Finally, they allow teachers to be more efficient and productive when working on routine administrative tasks. Needless to say, the AI course guarantees more time to invest in themselves and teacher-student interaction. Personalized approach guaranteed.

In addition to 15 new Chromebooks, the company announced up to 30 new Education features to come out at the annual ed tech exhibition known as Bett 2024. The most notable hallmarks include Duet AI created to help educators create and keep under control their data when working on lesson plans in Docs. Plus, the tool enables users to work on plans in Sheets, create images in Slides, and so on. As for the Resources tab in the Google Classroom, it helps create and share interactive lessons that include videos and practice sets. Finally, eSignature will work well for creating contracts and getting PDF and document signatures. Personalized learning, in turn, becomes even more available in the world of academia with Google interactive video tasks. They include incorporating questions into assigned YouTube videos, with real-time feedback provided by tutors and response insights given by students to their teachers.

According to the official blog by Google, all of the features provided for both college students and tutors were designed to help both camps. Now they are provided with the support they need to adapt to and succeed in today’s learning process. When it comes to artificial intelligence specifically, the reps of the company have been communicating with and listening to loads of teachers and tutors in order to get a better idea of how to infuse technology into the classroom in the most effective manner possible.

Amazon to Rock Education with Alexa and Kindle

To provide undergrads with innovative edu tools, Amazon is leveraging its Kindle and Alexa platforms. The company has launched a new initiative known as ‘Alexa for Education.’ The latter is designed to make learning more accessible and interactive. Alexa-enabled gadgets now have a great assortment of educational skills that help undergrads with their home tasks, quizzes, spelling options, etc.

Plus, the multinational technology company boosts its Kindle e-readers with a range of features designed exclusively for students. The new Kindle Education Edition has effective tools for flashcards, taking notes, and building vocabulary. College and university undergrads now have a chance to engage with their reading materials in a more interactive way. At the same time, tutors can assign reading tasks, track undergrads’ progress, and give feedback via gadget (quite time-saving!).

Education experts are optimistic about the potential benefits that both giants have to bring. According to the “Using Amazon Alexa as an Instructional Tool During Remote Teaching” research, smart voice assistants like Alexa could help learn the language quickly and even combat public speaking anxiety. The tools that Google and Amazon have introduced have the right potential to make the process of learning more personalized in ways we’ve never seen before. These innovations certainly serve as the gap between undergrads with different learning abilities and their backgrounds.

As Amazon and Google keep on to innovate and expand the assortment of their features in the field of education, the future of high school and college learning looks 100% interactive, gadgetized, and personalized.
