Flowers at the Grave of Hero Sinan Žuga
During the operation “Krug” for the liberation of the left bank of the Drina River, in the period from 15th of August to 18th of September 1992, the heroic battle for defense of Osanica took place.
The greatest attack on Goražde was from direction of Foča to Osanica, when several armored vehicles, tanks and transporters tried to cross two bridges on the river Osanica and conquer strategic place, the school at Osanica. Participants in the events remember that that day was the “hell”.
Armoured vehicles were heading towards the bridge, followed by hundreds of enemy soldiers and fired grenades, while on the other side were unarmed defenders, mostly locals and refugees. That was the day when the commander Sinan Žuga was killed.
