On 3 May 2022, Ambassador ITO visited Derventa, and met Milorad Simic, Mayor of Municipality of Derventa. Ambassador ITO discussed socio-economic and cultural cooperation with Simic. The Mayor expressed his appreciation for the past Japan’s assistance. Ambassador expressed his wish for further developing relations in various fields, it is stated in the press release.
On this occasion, Ambassador ITO met a Japanese teacher, Miho Dekic, who has devoted herself to teaching Japanese language at the school for persons with disabilities in Derventa. Ambassador offered her words of encouragement for her devotion as well as expressed his wish for offering support to her activities.
On the same day, Ambassador ITO visited Knezevo and attended handover ceremony. During the ceremony for “The Project for Rehabilitation of Petar Kocic Primary School in Knezevo“ Ambassador was welcomed by Novica Keleman, the school director, with the presence of Mr. Goran Borojevic, Mayor of Municipality of Knezevo.
Borojevic gave a welcoming address and expressed his appreciation for Japan’s assistance including assistance to educational sector. The Government of Japan granted 15,768 EUR (approx. 30,800 BAM) to this primary school for rehabilitating deteriorated windows.
On 4 May 2022, Ambassador ITO attended handover ceremony in Modrica. The ceremony for “The Project for Equipping Health Care Center Modrica with an Ambulance Vehicle and Medical Equipment“ and he was welcomed by Aleksandra Bozic, Director of Health Care Center Modrica, with the presence of Jovica Radulovic, Mayor of Municipality of Modrica.
Radulovic expressed his gratitude for Japan’s support to the Municipality. The Government of Japan granted 72,700 EUR (approx. 142,200 BAM) to this healh care center for equipping one ambulance vehicle and medical equipment including defibrillators, spirometer and electrocardiogram.
These two projects implemented with the aid of Japan’s “Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GAGP)” program, will contribute to the improvement of educational and health care environment in this school and health care center. Direct projects beneficiaries are about 110 pupils, teachers and school staff in the school in Knezevo, and about 3,360 patients annually in the health care center in Modrica.
