The Government of the Sarajevo Canton made a decision today to declare a state of natural disaster on Monday following the floods that hit larger parts of the canton’s territory over the weekend.
The government passed the decision at a proposal of the Civil Protection Agency and after the affected municipalities within the canton declared the state of natural disaster.
The flooding caused by heavy rain hit the settlements and suburbs on the outskirts of Sarajevo, threatening homes and causing material damage.
The decision takes effect immediately, it is stated.
