Today, the Government of the Sarajevo Canton will discuss the health situation in the Canton, and the proposal of new measures in the fight against coronavirus will be on the agenda.
The Prime Minister of the Sarajevo Canton, Edin Forto, told the media that it is possible to introduce restrictive measures in terms of shortening working hours.
“Information from the health system indicates that the situation is deteriorating and that it is possible to introduce restrictive measures in terms of shortening working hours,” Forto said.
In the Sarajevo Canton, there has been an increase in the number of coronavirus cases in recent days.
Among other things, new order prohibits the organization of all public gatherings in groups of more than 30 people, the organization of all private gatherings in groups of more than 10 people (weddings, birthdays, celebrations and other family gatherings of a similar nature), as well as the organization of live music in catering accommodation, food and beverage facilities.
Proper wearing of protective masks was ordered, as well as mandatory proper adherence to the protective measure of a physical distance of two meters indoors and outdoors.
The organization of working hours in the period from 5 to 23 hours was ordered for all types of catering facilities for food and beverages, regardless of whether they operate independently or within other facilities in which economic activity is performed (gas stations, accommodation facilities, etc.)
In the Sarajevo Canton, 386 new cases of coronavirus infection have been confirmed in the past 24 hours. These are the results of the laboratory analysis of 1,187 samples, the Institute of Public Health of Canton Sarajevo stated in the press release.
Of this number of newly infected, 209 people belong to family clusters or contacts of patients from before.
At the same time, 322 people recovered from the infectious disease COVID-19. Unfortunately, three people passed away yesterday.
At the clinics and in the Isolation of the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo in Podhrastovi, 219 people are currently being treated, and 126 people in the General Hospital.
Eight patients use mechanical respirator support when breathing, 11 patients are on non-invasive ventilation, while six use oxygen.
Currently, 2,407 cases of coronavirus infection are active in Sarajevo Canton.
Given the increase in the number of infected, the Public Health Institute of CS calls on the population to comply with the measures in force.
