The paper entitled ‘FibroTest/Fibrosource for Significant Liver Fibrosis and Cirrhosis in Chronic Hepatitis B: a Meta-Analysis’ was accepted for publication in the prestigious international journal the American Journal of Gastroenterology (AJG).
The publication is the result of cooperation between the research team, led by Doc.dr.sc Nermin Salkić, Mr.sc.dr. Predrag Jovanović and Dr. Majda Brčić from UKC Tuzla, as well as Doc.dr.sc Goran Hauser from KBC Rijeka.
The paper is about meta-analysis in a top scientific publication that incorporates findings and results of different studies in order to arrive at more precise evidence about the activities of therapy or the diagnostic power of a test.
In this meta-analysis of diagnostic tests, conducted according to the demanding methodology of Cochran’s Group, 1134 studies were initially processed, and in the final processing 16 were included from 2494 participants. The practical value of this meta-analysis is that it shows the true value of one of the most common tests for liver fibrosis in Hepatitis B.
The final score of the Editorial Board AJG, which says that this is the best meta-analysis publication on this topic so far, demonstrates the quality of this work.
