This is the biggest and most important award in my career. I am happy I brought the “Lion” to Sarajevo, because I think this is also recognition for BiH cinematography, said distinguished BiH actor Emir Hadžihafizbegović in Sarajevo today, who won prestigious “Golden Lion” at recent Venice Film Festival for best role in film “These are the Rules”.
It is a film directed by Croatian director Ognjen Sviličić, made in co-production by Croatia, France, Macedonia and Serbia, and it was screened at the Venice Film Festival within competition program “Orizzonti” alongside 18 other films.
He reminded they filmed last year during April and May in Zagreb and that the film is about murder of son of a married couple, played by Žalica and himself.
”Murder of the child takes place at the tram station, which is a parallel with murder of Denis Mrnjavac in Sarajevo. Film deals with that senseless and irrational violence which exists everywhere and it is not a Balkan story about minor delinquency”, he emphasized.
He underlined this film also brings a heavy psychological drama parents are going through after their child is murdered. He emphasized he also has children of similar age like the child in this film.
”This is the most difficult film I have played in among 46 in my career”, he said.
Actress Jasna Žalica emphasized she is very excited and happy about the award her colleague has received and that it only proved what she already knew during and after making of the film.
Minister of Culture and Sport of SC Ivica Šarić said that to win “Golden Lion” in a competition of 19 films is admirable, and he congratulated to the entire film crew for extraordinary success.
”This confirms that only culture and sports are promoting name of BiH in the world”, he emphasized.
Film was premiered on August 29 and will be presented in Zagreb and Paris, whereas Sarajevo audience will be able to watch it by New Year.
