mladic2The Hague Tribunal rejected request of Ratko Mladic’s defense for exemption of three judges, who will decide on the two appeals of the defense.

The defense had previously requested the exemption of judges Theodor Meron, Carmel Agius and Fausto Pocar with the explanation that they showed bias and “already established that Mladic is guilty” in the judgment of a group of officers of the Army of the RS led by Vujadin Popovic and Ljubisa Bear.

The decision to reject the request of defense was signed by the Acting President of the Tribunal, Judge Liu Daqun.

He stated in the decision that he does not consider as necessary to appoint a three-member judicial panel to consider the request of the defense.

Previously, the Prosecution of the Hague Tribunal declared against the exemption of these three judges.
