European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy, Johannes Hahn, will arrive in BiH in early December and deliver the EU Questionnaire with around 3,000 questions for BiH to the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH, Denis Zvizdic.
Chairman Zvizdic was informed about this at yesterday’s meeting by the head of the EU Delegation to BiH, Lars-Gunnar Wigemark.
He said that BiH will get a new annual report on the progress in November, which is expected to be better than last year’s.
The questionnaire of the European Commission for preparation of the opinion on the application for membership is the analytical instrument of the EU enlargement policy, which is used by the European Commission in order to assess the readiness of the country that has applied for membership to gain candidate status and open accession negotiations with the EU, which is finally decided by the Council of the EU and European Council.
The European Commission establishes a deadline when delivering the questionnaire, which determines when the questions should be submitted, usually two to four months.
