Association ”Heart for children with cancer”, with regular actions and campaigns, strives to raise awareness and awaken empathy among fellow citizens. One such campaign was attended by hairdressers in Bihać who donated all the funds from haircuts to the Association.

Thirty hairdressers from the territory of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina responded to the action of cutting the hair of fellow citizens in order to donate money and hair to children with cancer.

Džana Bećiragić, a girl from Cazin, also responded to the hair donation in Bihać, who is donating her hair for the second time in order to make everyday life easier for her peers.

For sick children, this kind of support makes the fight with a vicious disease more bearable, and as they say from the Association of Hairdressers and Beauticians, they didn’t think much about participating and giving their contribution either.

“Our children who go to Sarajevo have houses where they go, where they are treated and where parents can come to be with their children, and we want to contribute,” said Ismar Dizdarević, president of the Association of Hairdressers and Beauticians of Una Sama Canton.

According to Fikret Kubat, the president of the Association, cancer is a disease of the whole family, not just the child who is sick, and that is why he is grateful for the great response: “Psychosocial support and any other support is available to them and we will continue to do so because our mission is to provide permanent, active and comprehensive support to our children during and after treatment”.

This action was supported by the cantonal and local authorities. Advisor to the Prime Minister of USC, Nedžad Kudelić, pointed out that a significant amount is planned in the budget of USC this year as well – 50,000 BAM.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the number of children who have been cured is increasing, and according to the President of the Association, this is exactly what – encourages parents.
