After the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced that they had found and pulled out the bodies of six prisoners who had been held captive since October 7th from the tunnel in Rafah, Hamas reacted.
Senior Hamas official Izzat Al-Rishq says six Israeli prisoners found dead Saturday night in a tunnel in the southern Gaza Strip were killed by Israeli airstrikes.
Al-Rishq also blamed the US for its “bias, support and partnership” in the 11-month war in the besieged territory. One of the prisoners was a dual American-Israeli citizen, while the other was a Russian-Israeli citizen.
The official said that Hamas cares more about the lives of its prisoners than Biden, noting that the group accepted his proposal and the UN Security Council resolution.
“Netanyahu rejected it and his administration agreed to the prime minister’s demands, which were aimed at obstructing an agreement to maintain his power,” al-Rishq said.
We will remind you that the IDF announced this morning that the bodies of six Israeli prisoners had been found. The bodies of Carmel Gat, Eden Yerushalmi, Hersh Goldberg-Polin, Alexander Lobanov, Almog Sarusi and Ori Danin were brought to Israel.
“According to our initial assessment, they were brutally killed, Hamas killed them shortly before we got to them,” military spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari told reporters in an address this morning.
