Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh said that he would like to see the United Nations, Egypt, Qatar, Russia, Turkey and in the future the United States of America among the guarantors of the security of the Gaza Strip, but that Israel opposes it.

“Our demands on this issue remain in force. We want Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, Russia, the UN to be guarantors. Of course, the USA will also be able to join in the future. However, Israel is constantly opposed to this. We always put the search for guarantor states to the first place,” Haniyeh told the Turkish television channel “Kanal A”.

Speaking about the current situation in Gaza, Haniyeh noted that “the resistance is still strong and firm” and that the people are trying to defend themselves.

“In every area of Gaza, people are resisting. The Israeli army has left many areas and that gives us strength,” the Hamas leader added.

He pointed out that “Lebanon’s help is very valuable” for Gaza and that without it “Palestinians would be fighting alone”. Haniyeh said that it is not a secret and that Iran “has been helping for many years,” TASS reported.

Commenting on the reasons for the failure of the hostage exchange and cease-fire negotiations, the Hamas leader said that “Israel wants to get all the hostages and then resume military operations.”

Hanije emphasized that there will be no surrender in Rafa and that “the resistance will be even stronger”.

“Israel is the only force preventing the establishment of a truce, and the US, unfortunately, unconditionally accepts everything Israel says,” the Hamas leader concluded.
