Yesterday night in Sarajevo, the Handball Team of Bosnia and Herzegovina won a selection of Iceland with the result of 33:32 (14:17). The match was played the additional qualifications (barrage) for the World Championships 2015 in Qatar.
In the first 20 minutes of the match, BH players neutralized a quick game of Iceland, but later on have failed to defend and secure the advantage of three goals (11:8 in 17 minute). Numerous technical errors of our team in attack were punished relentlessly by Icelanders. With fast attacks they shifted the result and went on break with the advantage of 14:17.
In the second part of the match Iceland selection kept the advantage, and had the highest record in 44 minute (23:27). In the last 15 minutes, players led by selctor Dragan Marković and with the support of 3,000 fans in the “Mirza Delibasic” hall managed to return to the game. With the finish goals of Burić and Prca, BH players provided a great victory.
BH players will try to defend the minimal advantage in the second leg, which will be played on June 15 in Reykjavik.
