Skakavac waterfall has become an increasingly popular spot for relaxation. Not only domestic visitors are interested in this natural tourist attraction, but also tourists from the region. Arabs and Turks are interested as well.

The Public Institution for Protected Areas of the Sarajevo Canton recorded more than 1300 visits to the Skakavac waterfall and the picnic site at this location last year.

The picnic site near the waterfall is arranged and ready to accept many visitors. The waterfall can be seen from several viewpoints and visitors can walk to the bottom of the waterfall on a forest trail that is secured with handrails.

Skakavac is located 12 kilometres north of Sarajevo, above Nahorevo. The waterfall is 98 meters high and together with the broader area it is declared a monument of nature.
