Heavy rains have once again caused flooding in the Konjic area, with the worst damage recorded in the Kralupi settlement, where about a dozen houses were flooded.

“Due to the rain and melting snow, the water level of the rivers – Kraljuštica, Seočnica, Neretvica – has increased, and in some places the embankments have broken and buildings located near these rivers have been flooded,” said Husein Hodžić, assistant mayor for civil protection and firefighting of the Konjic Municipality, to Fena news agency, adding that machinery was immediately deployed to deepen the riverbeds.

In his opinion, there will certainly be more problems in all these areas until all watercourses are regulated.

As he says, the floods have caused damage to family homes and road infrastructure, because in some places road communication was also interrupted.

“After the catastrophic floods that hit this area on October 4, people started to renovate their damaged residential buildings, unfortunately, these buildings have flooded again and we have damage to these houses again,” said Hodžić.

He pointed out that the greatest damage was recorded in Kralupi, a settlement of about 10 houses that were flooded, and in the village of Seonica, as well as in Parovići.
