The fire in the area of Vrtaljica in Konjic, which broke out two days ago, is still active, and the helicopter of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina is involved in extinguishing the fire.

All available forces are engaged at the fire site in Konjic, and from 1 p.m. another firefighting helicopter will be in operation.

The head of the municipality of Konjic, Osman Ćatić, stated that they are in constant contact with the Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nermin Nikšić, and international assistance has been requested.

As reported by the Civil Protection and Fire Service of the City of Konjic, a pine forest is burning, and the fire is spreading.

Due to the large slopes, the terrain is inaccessible for firefighting from the ground.

Two helicopters of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina have been operating in the area of Vrtaljica and Zlatar since 8:00 a.m. this morning.
