High Representative Valentin Inzko met today in Sarajevo with a delegation of the EUFOR led by the EU Operation Commander, Operation Althea, Lieutenant General Olivier Rittimann. They discussed the political and security situation in the country.

On Tuesday, Bosnia and Herzegovina’s (BiH’s) Presidency Chairman Zeljko Komsic and BiH Presidency Members Sefik Dzaferovic and Milorad Dodik met with Rittimann as well and during the meeting, gratitude was expressed for EUFOR’s assistance in maintaining the peace and security of Bosnia and Herzegovina and to its citizens as well. The Althea mission was assessed as significant and successful in contributing to stability in BiH and the environment.

Also, it was emphasized the good cooperation of EUFOR forces with the civilian and military structures in Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially with the BiH Ministry of Defense.

In addition, a good international cooperation and successful participation of the BiH Armed Forces in missions and joint exercises was emphasized as well. In this regard, the expectation is that the scope of cooperation will increase in the future.
