The House of Representatives to decide on Increase of the Excise Taxes on May 10

parliamentThe final decision on the increase of excise duties on oil and oil derivatives in BiH will be made at the 45th session of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, which will take place on May 10, 2017.

During this session, MPs will discuss a number of points, but the most interesting points will be the ones that are concerning the amendments to the reform of laws, including the one on excise duties.

This time, representatives of the House of Representatives will discuss the Law on Excise on the shortened procedure, after they rejected discussion of this law in an emergency procedure twice.

Also, the discussion on the Law on Administration, the basics of traffic safety on the roads in BiH, as well as discussions on two loans that BiH is taking from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, which will be used to continue with the construction of Corridor 5C and the Port of Brcko, will be especially interesting.

To recall, amendments to the law on excise duties caused the great attention of the entire public in a recent couple of weeks, since this type of change would cause a direct increase in prices of fuel. Thus, oil and petroleum products would be increased by 15 fenings, and these funds would be used for the construction of roads and highways in our country.
