HR asks why is RS Leadership is honoring Vladimir Putin

The Office of the High Representative (OHR) asks why is RS leadership honoring Vladimir Putin, a man who violates human rights and whose actions have been credibly called war crimes.

“RS President should act with more wisdom and responsibility, in the interests of all RS citizens rather than try to kowtow to such disgraceful persons,” it was written on the OHR’s Twitter profile.

The European Union (EU) condemns the decision of the authorities in the Bosnian entity Republika Srpska (RS) to award Russian President Vladimir Putin with the Order of the Republika Srpska, said the spokesman of the European Commission, Peter Stano.

The President of the RS, Milorad Dodik, on Sunday, on the occasion of January 9, which is unconstitutionally celebrated in the RS as the day of that entity, awarded about fifty persons and institutions, and the first on the list was the Russian president, who has been faced with general isolation in the West because of the aggression against Ukraine.

European Commission spokesman Peter Stano was among those who condemned the awarding of the award to Putin today.

“There is no place in the EU for honoring and rewarding politicians who order the destruction of a neighboring country and the killing of its people. This must be clear to everyone, and this decision of the leadership of Republika Srpska is regrettable and wrong,” Stano assessed.
