The High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Christian Schmidt, today welcomed the announcement by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, that the Commission will recommend to the European Council the opening of accession negotiations with Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“I am grateful for President Von der Leyen’s announcement that the European Commission recommends opening accession negotiations with Bosnia and Herzegovina. This is the possible beginning of a process that is crucial for the future and prosperity of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the EU family,” said Schmidt in a post on the X platform.
As he announced, he will provide full support and cooperation in accordance with the Dayton mandate.
