Organized by members of the Mountaineering Society “Cincar” from Livno and the Mountain Rescue Service of Herceg-Bosnia County, the traditional event “100 women on Kamešnica” was organized on Saturday.
About 200 participants from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia (from Zagreb, Sinj, Split, Trilj, Imotski, Mostar, Čitluk, Tomislav grada, Livno, Kupres) took part in the ascent towards Kamešnica.
The president of the “Cincar” Mountaineering Society, Jelena Bobetić, said that their goal is to promote hiking and being in nature, and that on this occasion, an ascent was organized for women, as well as other hiking enthusiasts, to the largest mountain in Livonia, Kamešnica.
As she recalled, the idea of a hundred women’s expedition to Kamešnica came seven years ago quite by chance in a mutual conversation between several members of the Mountain Rescue Service of Herceg-Bosnia County, and they passed it on and received support from the local mountaineering society.
The event “100 women on Kamešnica” once again gathered a significant number of participants. Some Kamešnica residents returned, some discovered it for the first time, and everyone hopes to see it again next year.
Good weather and an even better mood marked this, now traditional, seventh ascent, pointed out from the Mountaineering Society “Cincar” Livno.
They also thanked the valuable members who helped organize this event, as well as those who participated, as they said, in creating memories.
