Hundreds of Trucks from Across BiH to Converge on Sarajevo

The consortium of international road transport companies “Logistika BiH” today informed the Interior Ministry of the Sarajevo Canton, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republika Srpska about a peaceful protest truck drive planned for Monday.

As they announced, a parade of a large number of trucks through Sarajevo is planned from 12:00 to 14:00. The parade will include vehicles departing from Doboj, Tuzla, Zvornik, Bihać, Vitez, Mostar, Banja Luka and Bileća.

“The gathering and movement will be organized and fully compliant with the Law on the Basics of Road Traffic Safety in BiH. The participants in the parade have committed to respecting all traffic regulations, instructions from police authorities, without blocking roads and without incidents. The activity has a peaceful, symbolic and dignified character, with the aim of pointing out the serious problems faced by the transport and logistics sector,” they stated.

They added that the carriers are taking part in the parade to send a clear message that without them there is no industry, trade, healthcare, or borders.

The Consortium “Logistics BiH”, pointing out the reasons for the parade and the problems, stressed that 2025 is the decisive year.

“Drivers from BiH are massively banned from entering the European Union due to the 90/180 rule (which refers to the possibility of 90 days of stay within a 180-day period). Business costs are increasing from month to month. There are queues at the borders for up to 16 hours, for no reason and without responsibility. Every attempt at individual dialogue is stifled by phrases about commissions and laws in the making,” they pointed out.

We remind you that representatives of international road carriers yesterday discussed long-standing problems with the Minister of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Edin Fort, and requested a meeting with the Director of the Indirect Taxation Administration of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zoran Tegeltija, in Banja Luka on April 25.

“If there is no agreement, a road blockade in BiH will follow on April 28th – the BiH Logistics Consortium warned again today.

They stated that the key demands are a moratorium on the 90/180 rule, i.e. protection of BiH drivers from bans on entry into the European Union, a refund of excise duties based on the Montenegrin model, a reduction in border delays, digitalization of customs and border procedures, and administrative relief from business costs, i.e. stopping constant changes to regulations, analysis and elimination of unnecessary bureaucratic burdens.
