The Cantonal Agency for Investment Attraction and Privatization of the Sarajevo Canton (KAIP) and the Hungarian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (HEPA) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in Budapest, with the aim of facilitating and promoting investments and strengthening economic ties.

The agreement was signed by Adnan Jašarević, Director of KAIP, and Jenei Gabor, Director of HEPA.

“We have a significant interest in the Sarajevo Canton, especially in the areas of tourism, the IT sector, and energy, and we want to accelerate implementation and activate new opportunities in this way. Investors should be encouraged – capital goes where the doors are open. There is no economic growth or prosperity without investments. By creating an institutional framework for cooperation with our EU partners, we have sent an important and positive message about our focus on development and the economy, about the business climate in Sarajevo, about development opportunities and a large space for progress and investment,” said Jašarević.

Jašarević pointed out that, in addition to the signing of the Memorandum, a series of meetings were held with potential investors and representatives of the business community in Budapest, where very specific projects and possible investments were discussed.

“We are particularly encouraged by the information that the Hungarian government will provide additional financial assistance to companies that decide to invest in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said Jašarević.

The Memorandum of Cooperation establishes an institutional framework for more intensive ties, attracting investors and overcoming challenges in mutual economic connections, in the interests of both parties. Through this cooperation, Sarajevo Canton will further promote its potential as a desirable investment destination for companies from Hungary, members of the European Union.

By signing this agreement, KAIP continues to actively connect with international partners, with the aim of attracting investors and better presenting the development potential of Sarajevo Canton at the European and global levels, Klix.ba writes.
