The Plenum of the Logistics Consortium of Bosnia and Herzegovina, after the meeting held in Matuzići near Doboj, was activated in the conditions of a crisis situation in the international road transport sector.
They state that, if a concrete and operational solution to the problem of the residence of professional drivers in the European Union countries is not reached by March 10th, blockades of all border crossings in Bosnia and Herzegovina will be initiated on March 12th.
They point out that this decision is not political but existential. They sent requests to the Presidency of BiH, the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, the Council of Ministers of BiH, entity governments, competent ministries, the chamber system and employers’ unions.
As they stated in the statement, the promise period is over and they expect that, by March 10 at the latest, the aforementioned institutions will establish a moratorium on the restrictive application of the rules of residence for cabin crew in the international road transport of goods and passengers, along with defining the special status of professional drivers.
At the same time, they demand a clear and credible political response to the institutions of the European Union, with the aim of protecting domestic carriers from practices that, in practice, lead to an unequal position in supply chains.
They are also looking for urgent internal action, which implies coordinated and operational action of all BiH institutions towards the EU, with specific conclusions and deadlines.
They also want a temporary financial measure, which refers to the introduction of a monthly subsidy in the range of 21 to 30 million BAM, as a compensatory mechanism for losses caused by restrictions on operations on the EU market, until a systemic solution.
According to the data of the sector, approximately 36 percent of the capacity of road carriers is already blocked, which directly threatens exports, budget revenues and jobs.
They explain that when 36 percent of the capacity stops, then not only the sector stops, but also the economy stops.
“We demand that all subsequent meetings with the institutions be organized publicly, with the presence of the media. After 14 months of waiting, only a transparent dialogue can restore trust. The media showed responsibility and understanding, and we believe that citizens have the right to hear the truth without closed doors,” they pointed out.
They added that the trap has been activated and that coordinators in all cities have initiated procedures.
“Until 10.03.2026. more than a million citizens will be informed about the real situation in the sector. We fight for every job. We fight for every family and for the right to work. The protest until the request is met remains a legitimate measure,” it is stated in the press release of the Plenum of Konzorcija Logistika BiH.
