Doctor of veterinary Almir Karabegovic was awarded with 5 gold medals for his invention of contraceptive spiral which prevents uncontrolled reproduction of dogs in one year on 5 international world exhibitions were, which is a unique record in the world of scientific discovery and the business world.
This doctor from Dubica, who lives and works in Bihac now, won 5 gold medals in less than a year – the first in Taiwan, the second in Croatia, the third in London, the fourth in Thailand, and the fifth in Kuala Lumpur in February this year.
His invention – contraceptive spiral is unique, simple, practical and easily usable and it represents a valuable innovation in veterinary medicine, providing an inexpensive and effective protection from uncontrolled breeding of dogs.
His business and life achievements are followed by numerous friends of family Karabegovic from Dubica, that after the aggression in BiH and 5 years spent in exile in Germany, was one of the first that came back to BiH. As the return in Bosanska Dubica was not safe they settled in Bihac, where Karabegovic started private business and opened the first private veterinary clinic in this area.
