In the Actions “Alterego I and II” 13 Persons were deprived of their Liberty

Police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) yesterday, according to the orders of the Cantonal Court in Tuzla and the District Court in Banja Luka, in the area of Tuzla, Kalesija, Bijeljina, Zvornik, Srebrenica and Bratunac, carried out operational actions “Alterego I and II”, in which searches were carried out at 15 locations and 13 persons were deprived of their liberty.

“Persons deprived of their liberty were taken to the premises of SIPA for criminal processing and interrogation as suspects, after which they were handed over to the further jurisdiction of the acting prosecutors of the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office of Tuzla Canton and the Republican Public Prosecutor’s Office of Republika Srpska within the legal term,” SIPA announced.

During the search, a large amount of money, travel documents, computers and laptops, blank diplomas, seals and other documents and items that can serve as evidence that the above-mentioned crimes were committed were discovered and temporarily confiscated.

The activities were carried out due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that the crimes “organized crime”, “forgery of documents”, “certification of untrue content”, “illegal storage of goods” and “smuggling” prescribed by the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the criminal offenses “association for the purpose of committing a criminal offense”, “forging a document”, “issuing and using a false medical or veterinary certificate”, giving a bribe”, “receiving a bribe”, “abuse of official position or authority” and “trafficking in influence” prescribed by the Criminal Code of the Republic of Srpska.

“Cooperation during the implementation of the aforementioned activities was achieved with police officers of the Ministries of Internal Affairs of the Republika Srpska and Tuzla Canton,” the statement added.
