Increase in the average net Salary in Republika Srpska

The average net salary in Republika Srpska paid in February was 1,392 BAM and is higher by 80 BAM or by 6.1 percent compared to the average net salary paid in January, which is the result of the growth of the lowest salary for this year from 700 BAM to 900 BAM , it was announced from the Federation of Trade Unions of the RS.

The press release states that the significant increase in average net wages in February is the result of an increase in the lowest wage for this year from 700 BAM to 900 BAM.

In all activities, salary growth compared to January was recorded from 1.6 percent or 28 BAM in financial activities to 13.5 percent or 148 BAM in water supply, sewerage, waste management and rehabilitation/remediation activities/environment, according to the Association of Trade Unions.

In economic production and service activities, a significant increase in net wages was recorded, so that in the construction sector, February wages were higher by 104 BAM or 10.6 percent compared to January, in the transport and storage sector by 113 BAM or 11 percent, in the processing industry for 96 BAM or 8.8 percent.

In trade, compared to January, the salary in February is higher by 128 BAM or 11.6 percent, while in catering it is higher by 96 BAM or 9.2 percent.

The announcement states that the trade union consumer basket for February amounted to 2,590.75 KM and the average salary covers it with 53.73 percent.

The union consumer basket includes expenses for food, housing and communal services, current household maintenance, clothing and footwear, hygiene and health care, transport, education and culture.

Families in Republika Srpska spent the most money on food, BAM 1,176. It was necessary to allocate 650 BAM for housing and communal services, 226 BAM for transportation, 144 BAM for current household maintenance, and the purchase of shoes and clothes in February cost 193 BAM.
