Increase in Total Seasonally Adjusted Industrial Production in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Total seasonally adjusted industrial production in Bosnia and Herzegovina in Маy 2020, compared to April 2020, is increased by 2.0%.

In Маy 2020, compared to Маy 2019, industrial production in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the calender adjusted, is decreased by 15.9%.

In Маy 2020, compared to April 2020, production of Consumer durables increased by 41.6%, production of Capital goods increased by 14.8%, production of Consumer non-durables increased by 9.8%, while production of Intermediate goods decreased by 3.0%, and production of Energy decreased by 8.0%.

In Маy 2020 compared to Маy 2019, production of Energy decreased by 10.7%, production of Consumer non- durables decreased by 14.4%, production of Capital goods decreased by 16.9%, production of Intermediate goods decreased by 18.9%, and production of Consumer durables decreased by 44.1%.

In Маy 2020, compared to Маy 2019, calendar adjusted industrial production increased in section Mining and quarrying by 2.7%, while in section Electricity and gas supply decreased by 16.4%, and in section Manufacturing decreased by 18.5%.

Broken down by divisions of activities (rates are calculated from seasonally adjusted indices) in Маy 2020 compared to April 2020, the highest growth is recorded in division 12 – Manufacture of tobacco products (over 300.0%) and division 31 – Manufacture of furniture (51.9%). The largest decline in industrial production in Маy 2020 compared to April this year was recorded in division 21 – Manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations (26.6%) and division 24 – Manufacture of basic metals (21.4%).

Broken down by divisions of activities (rates are calculated from calendar adjusted indices) in Маy 2020 compared to Маy 2019, the highest growth is recorded in the following divisions: division 12 – Manufacture of tobacco products (79.3%) and division 26 – Manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products (47.1%). The largest decline in industrial production in Маy 2020 compared to Маy 2019, was recorded in division 30 – Manufacture of other transport equipment (58.4%) and division 24 – Manufacture of basic metals (55.0%).
