Increase of Prices of Prices of Goods and Services in BiH

Prices of goods and services used for personal consumption in Bosnia and Herzegovina, measured by the consumer price index, in March compared to the previous month of this year, increased by 2.8 percent on average.

Higher prices were recorded in almost all sections. In March, compared to the previous month this year, the prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 2.5 percent, alcoholic beverages and tobacco by 0.2 percent, clothing and footwear by 4.2 percent, housing and overheads by 1.3 percent, furniture and household appliances by 0.7 percent, transportation by 10.2 percent, recreation and culture by 0.5 percent, education by 0.2 percent, restaurants and hotels by 1.8 percent, and other goods and services by one percent, according to the BiH Agency for Statistics.

At the annual level, in March this year compared to March last year, an average price increase of 10.2 percent was recorded.

Food and non-alcoholic beverages are on average 14.8 percent more expensive, alcoholic beverages and tobacco 0.7 percent more expensive, housing and overheads 8.3 percent more expensive, furniture, household appliances and regular housekeeping 6.3 percent more expensive, health care one percent, transportation 24.5 percent, communications 0.3 percent, recreation and culture 5.2 percent, education 0.5 percent, restaurants and hotels 6.9 percent, and other goods and services 3.7 percent percent.

The average drop in prices was recorded in clothing and footwear by 5.5 percent.
