Incredible Response of the Citizens of Sarajevo to help Turkey and Syria!

The campaign to collect humanitarian aid for Turkey and Syria received an unprecedented response from citizens. Huge amounts of all necessities were collected, and the Pomozi.ba association was full of volunteers and citizens yesterday who brought aid packages.

After several devastating earthquakes hit Turkey and Syria on Monday, the death toll is increasing hour by hour, and currently exceeds 22.000. Thousands of citizens in Turkey and Syria have been left without a roof over their heads, basic foodstuffs, clothes, shoes, and hygiene items.

Numerous countries of the world have sent rescue teams, debris removal equipment, and humanitarian aid packages. Among them is Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). In addition to sending a team of rescuers to the affected areas, trucks full of humanitarian aid will soon leave our country.

The association Pomozi.ba launched a campaign to collect monetary donations, as well as basic necessities such as clothes, shoes, blankets, baby food, and the like.

As Maja Arslanagic, spokeswoman for the Pomozi.ba Association said, they have no guarantee that the trucks will be able to enter Syria, so they made that part of the job easier for themselves by paying money.

”The response of our citizens, both monetary donations and these donations in the form of clothing and other necessities, is really huge. Today, a huge number of people came here, as in the past few days. Everyone brings clothes, shoes, blankets, sleeping bags, baby food, and hygiene items for both adults and babies. I think we have enough, but anyone who wants to help can bring us things until February 11th at 5 pm. But when it comes to monetary donations, the appeal will be open until further notice,” Arslanagic stated yesterday, Klix.ba reports.
