Incredible Scenes in Saudi Arabia: Desert Sands covered with Snow

Snow covered the northern region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Al-Jouf, turning many parts of the area white from Friday morning, November 1st.

The Al-Jouf region is known for its spring wildflowers, including lavender and chrysanthemums, along with numerous aromatic plants.

The Saudi National Center for Meteorology (NCM) has warned that there remains a chance of thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds, poor visibility, hail, and potential flooding across most areas of Al-Jouf in the coming days.

According to the Saudi media, since last Wednesday, heavy rains accompanied by large amounts of hail have impacted parts of the Al-Jouf region.

These abundant rains have also recharged water sources, bringing life to valleys and heralding the onset of winter, which will lead to the spring season. Known for its seasonal wildflowers in spring, such as lavender, chrysanthemums, and various aromatic plants, Al-Jouf’s landscape bursts with natural beauty, now enhanced by the recent rains.

Saudi Arabia’s General Directorate of Civil Defense has issued weather advisories, urging citizens to take precautions as heavy rains are expected to continue through Monday.

The Northern Borders region experienced substantial rainfall and thunderstorms on Saturday, especially impacting the Rafha Governorate and surrounding areas.

The NCM has issued warnings of moderate to severe thunderstorms, flash floods, hail, and strong winds across several regions, including Jazan, Asir, Al Bahah, Mecca, Medina, Hail, and the Northern Borders. Light to moderate rain and fog are expected in Riyadh, Qassim, the Eastern Province, Tabuk, and Al-Jouf, Klix.ba writes.
