Indictment field against One Person for placing 101 kg of Tobacco without paid Excise Duties on Market

A prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH has filed an indictment against Milorad Petrovic, born in 1957 in the municipality of Bosanski Samac, a citizen of BiH.

It is alleged against the accused that on 10 December 2020, in order to acquire illegal property gain, he attempted to place on the market a large quantity of produced cut tobacco in the amount of 101 kilograms, without paid excise duties and levies provided for by the Law on Excise Duties and the Law on Tobacco, and that in the car he operated he transported the tobacco packed in smaller PVC bags suitable for sale on the illegal tobacco market with the intention of selling it to a buyer known to him for the agreed amount of money.

The accused was detected in the commission of the criminal offence during the control performed by the police officers of the Police Station Maglaj, within which the said tobacco was found and seized.

The accused is charged with attempting to place on the market, for sale, the products that were not marked with control and tax stamps in the manner prescribed by the tax legislation of BiH, thus committing the criminal offence of Illicit Trade in Excise Products under Article 210a (1) in conjunction with Article 26 of the Criminal Code of BiH.

The indictment has been forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
