industrijska proizvodnjaIndustrial production in B&H at the end of the first half of the year grew by seven percent compared to the same period last year, while the construction sector registered different trends in the entities, according to the report of the Macroeconomic Planning.

The main reasons for the moderate recovery of B&H industrial production during the first half of the year is related to the extremely favorable weather conditions and an increase in export demand.

Unlike he mining sector, where a decline in production over the previous year was recorded, the manufacturing and electricity generation sector has achieved half-year production growth of approximately 10 percent, and thus made a positive contribution to overall industrial production in B&H.

In RS in the first half of the year is recorded a growth of industrial production by 3.2percent, while in the Federation this growth was 8.2 percent compared to the first half of last year.

Strong growth in the construction works in the Federation,of 21.3 percent in the first quarter of this year has largely slowed in the second quarter, so it’s semi-annual growth was 13.2percent compared to the first half of last year.

In RS is a sharp annual decline of works from the first quarter of 15.8 percent decreased significantly in the second quarter, resulting in a half-year decline of 3.4 percent compared with the first half of last year.

Total employment in B&H in May was 685.300, which is 0.6 percent less than in the same month last year.

In the public sector the number of employees has increased in all categories, while a decrease was recorded in the private sector. The unemployment rate in B&H in May stood at44.4percent.

The total money supply in the first five months of this year amounted to 15.2billion KM, with a growth rate of 5.3percent compared with the same period last year.
