More than 5.6 billion BAM arrived in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) from abroad in 2024, according to data from the Central Bank of BiH (CBBiH).

The CBBiH reported that remittances from abroad to BiH amounted to 4.16 billion BAM last year.

It is particularly interesting to note that pensions from abroad brought 1.38 billion BAM into BiH in 2024. Through other money transfers, 139 million BAM arrived in BiH over the past year.

It is important to highlight that total current transfers from abroad to BiH have been steadily increasing over the past four years.

In 2021, this figure amounted to 4.35 billion BAM, rising to 4.95 billion BAM in 2022.

Already the following year, in 2023, the figure exceeded five billion, reaching a total of 5.26 billion BAM, while for the previous year, an increase of 425 million was recorded, bringing the total to 5.69 billion BAM.
