The BiH Ministry of Civil Affairs, in cooperation with the project WeBinUnion and with the financial help of the Austrian Development Agency, organized an information day on the topic “European Charter of Researchers and Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers”.
Representatives of the academic community of BIH, public, private universities and research institutes, attended the meeting.
The European Charter of Researchers and Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers are two key documents of the EU, which seeks to improve the status of researchers in the public and private sector.
The Charter provides a framework for managing the careers of researchers, while the Code of Conduct promotes open and transparent procedures for evaluation and research activities.
Together, they focused on the development of an attractive, open and sustainable European labor market for researchers.
There are different experiences in the implementation of the two key documents, whose end goal is to ensure the quality of working conditions for researchers and reaching the prestigious logo “Human Resources Excellence in Research”.
The Charter and Code of Conduct have been signed by a total of 10 BiH institutions so far. It is expected that in the next period other higher education institutions will take this step and be included in the family of European universities.
